I’ve been in business for a number of years and am declaring 2014 as the year of success. Here’s my road map. Let me know if it works for you too!
Make Money Monday
Most people hate Monday. Personally, I like the opportunity to hit the ground running and generate revenue for my business. Make Money Monday is all about focusing on tasks that generate revenue.
Tough Task Tuesday
Admit it. We all have those task that bring out the procrastinator in best of us. Avoidance behavior kicks in and distractions take over. Tough Task Tuesday is about identifying and tackling the task head on. Need to invoice your customers? Need to write a blog post? Need to make that difficult call? Relegate it to Tough Task Tuesday and knock it out.
We all understand the phrase win-win. Do we actively do anything to create a win-win with our customers, vendors, employees or prospects? Have you asked your customers what you can do to make their lives easier? Have you reached out to one of your employees to understand how you can help them grow in their career? Win-Win Wednesday is about creating relationships in your business.
Think It Through Thursday
It has been said that if all you do is work in your business and not on your business, you will remain small and stifled. Think It Through Thursday is about working on your business. Review your business plan. Take a look at your projections. Work on new products or services. This is crucial to the long-term success of your business.
Fantastic Finish Friday
You’ve made it to Friday. You can see the weekend from here and you ready to ease into things. Have you considered how you can finish the week and make it a record week for your business. Is there one more call you can make? Any lingering sales from Make Money Monday that you can put on the books? Any additional Win-Win Wednesday chances to bring your customers into the weekend thinking about your business?
Study Success Saturday
Small business owners are all about working hard and playing hard. Who in business do you admire? What business books have you been wanting to read? Have you revisited classics like Think & Grow Rich or modern classics like Rich Dad Poor Dad. How about Start With Why?
Stop Striving Sunday
Small business owners are notorious about not taking time to recharge. One of my favorite versus in the Bible is Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (New International Version) Regardless of your spiritual views, the advice is simple. Stop striving. Take time to be with your family. Get out and enjoy the life you are working so hard to build for yourself. Take a long nap. Go for a long walk on the beach… shoes optional of course. Reflect and give thanks for the amazing blessings in your life.
