Our founder, Jeff Baker, has been working in the website world since 1996, when he started a consulting company called InterDevelop. For many years, building great websites and helping clients with any web based problem, was just a side business. But in 2014, Jeff decided to branch out on his own. And that’s when ShoesOptional began. For years the goal of ShoesOptional has been to build websites that will help our clients share their business and their passion with the world.

Over time we began to see that our clients needed more than just a website. Many of our clients would often ask us to help them with other digital efforts, like blogging, social media, and even Google Ads. We became the single point of contact for all things digital. We are often top of mind for our clients when it comes to anything related to the web.

We also noticed that despite having well-designed websites many of our clients struggled to grow their businesses. As we looked more carefully at their marketing efforts we found that most of them took a shotgun approach to marketing their business. They would post on Facebook here and there or write a blog once a month. But there were many pieces missing from their marketing puzzle.
